I am trying to make a good seasoning for homemade Chinese. I made some today, but I am not happy with it - too much ginger! I am probably accustomed to sauces from Chinese restaurants, and so, nothing homemade tastes quite the same. I think I'm going to cave some day and just buy brown or oyster sauce or whatever from a wholesale company and totally binge...I'll be disappointed I couldn't make it myself, but at least I'll have a full belly!

I made a braided challah with my cousin, teaching him how to make dough from scratch. We left it sit a bit too long to rise when we went for groceries, and it ended up being huge!! But very satisfying.
