What Do You Like to Drink with Spicy Food?

Post by Brett Linette »

I find that a tangy drink, such as lemonade, can combat a spicy food any day.

What do you guys think? What drink do you like to cool your mouth off with?

The protagonist of "Can I Be Frank?" went for a number of beers after downing a jalapeno popper. Check out the book review I just did of it to see whether or not that course of action ended in his favor. Any comment on said book review will be reciprocated. Thank you for the support.

I like to drink coca cola with spicy food. Add a slice of lemon and ice to make it even more refreshing, especially if the weather is hot as well.

I don't like Coca Cola, but I can see how adding a slice of lemon to said soda could make it taste better.

Usually lemonade. I'm not a big fan of spicy food, though.

I like spicy food more and more with time. I think it's an acquired taste.

I am old school and find that ice cold water does the trick for me when I eat spicy food.

While water has never done it for me, I can't say I've ever had it ice cold. I can see how the mere chill of a drink could subdue the heat of any given food.

Thanks for the concept!

When I can't take the heat of a spice, milk is my best friend. Water will not be able to help you simply get rid of the spice in your mouth, but milk will. Even if it pains my tongue, I'm still fiery headed enough to consume spicy dishes though.

Umm I would drink coca-cola or any kind of mocktail. I am ok with water too.

Iced Tea or juice. Soda doesn't really sooth the Heat, but it also depends on the food.

Usually just water. I feel like I immune to spicy food because of the spicy food that I eat.

Plain mango juice goes well with spicy food for me.

I think I usually pair it up with soft drinks and it's going to be coke most likely. I also like chocolate shakes, so even that goes well for me.

Sodas like coke are always a good combination. Yogurt-based drinks are also ok.

Am not into spicy food too much, but once I find myself with one, I would preffer a sweet cold mango fruit juice.
