It's important to me. If I don't know a word I'll definitely look it up, and when I'm writing I'll look for new words to use.

For me, it's more important that I know a word when I read it in a book because I hate getting in to something and then getting thrown off by a word I can't recognize, and having to pull out the old dictionary. An expanded vocabulary when I talk isn't as important to me, because I can get my point across with the many words I already know. (:

I have strong believe that reading can expand vocabulary. While I read a book I always keep myself close to a kind of e-dictionary. :D
And whenever I get to a new word, I always check that out and write it in my notebook. Haven't turned back to it though, but writing something down makes it clear to my mind. Its kind of a learning ritual to me. :)

I enjoy having a large vocabulary that is a result of all of my reading, but that is not why I read. I read because I enjoy it and an expanded vocabulary is just an extra benefit.

I read to expand my vocabulary. I found that when I moved that I picked up the slang of my new home, and feel my vocabulary went down because of it and only using the terminology for my career field. I feel reading has helped me expand my vocabulary, and I am slowly building it back up. I always have a dictionary near by when reading to help when needed.

I like to increase my vocabulary my choosing two words(they can be the word of the day of merriam-webster.com or just a random word) and I try to use those two words in sentences that I am saying or writing all day.I repeat the words their definitions and use them and they get stuck in my head :) and expand my vocabulary.

Expanding my vocabulary is so important to me. I love words. I love reading words, learning new words, and using them in my writing and every day conversation. I love when I use a new word that I've recently added to my vocabulary and someone asks me about it, it gives me a strong sense of pride as a reader and writer.

As long as I have enough words to get by in everyday life, I am fine. It's more important to me to expand my Japanese vocabulary, but that's not coming along so well... 8)

I definitely think that reading has helped me expand my vocabulary but at the same time I prefer to speak in simple terms as opposed to using bigger words to get my point across. Though reading has also helped with my writing skills in many ways!

I would definitely go with reading as a way to improve my vocabulary and there is always a dictionary to help me out with the words which I don't understand..

I love having new words to use. I also love delving into the etymology of the words that I already do know as well as those I am learning too. Words are awesome! :D

Because I am a highschool student, it is a good thing for me to learn new vocabulary so I improve my english skills and language (besides it's my second language so :-) )

And in order to achieve A* in CIE, I need to be great in it :-)

Very important to me in fact the dictionary is and always will be one of my favorite books. I really get a kick out of knowing the meaning of words that I once didn't when reading them in any type of literature be it books, magazines, newspapers, technical writings, etc. The same goes for spoken words and knowing how/when to use them depending on your audience.
