Both! I'm Portuguese and like to read in English, so I'm not able to find many second-hand books in English being sold here. But whenever I'm looking for a book I always see if I can find it second-handed. If not, I'll buy it!

I do not mind getting an used book but I would surely think twice before giving someone used book as a gift.

I buy new books for books I know I will love or my favorite authors. But I mostly buy second-hand books. They will be in good condition for less price. So, I can buy new even more books. Also, used books carry some sort of history or nostalgia.

I borrow books from the library. But when Covid happened and everything closed I bought used books.

I love used books. I'm a thrifter, so I like to find a bargain. I also like to write in my books, so I don't feel so guilty writing in used books.

I do both. I have picked up several books from garage sales. I have also bought them at full price or at the dollar store. I am constantly on the lookout for new to me books.

I prefer either. I buy a lot from amazon used. New ones are just so expensive sometimes.

I find that if I keep it on my shelf and if I liked it I can get the kids that I work with to read them as well. Sometimes I am a freak about getting other people reading!

Both. I sometimes get new books but I absolutely don’t mind used books either. As long as it’s in reasonably good condition it really doesn’t seem to matter and it can cost a lot less. I don’t think I would buy a used book for someone as a gift though, unless I really had to or it was a nice, old fashioned copy.
