The Incredible Journey always makes me cry and get teased by friends and family. There are two scenes where I tear up even before reading the section. I am not sure why since I don't react this way with other books I have read.

Code Name Lily by Julien Ayotte

This book is historical fiction that made me cry a couple of times, not because it was sad but because it was touching.

FiveK wrote: 01 Jul 2009, 23:10 The first book that made me cry was Bridge to Terabithia, which I read in the fifth grade. Most recently, My Sister's Keeper made me cry tears of fury. There have been so many others in between. Growing up I used to cry at the end of long books or series just because I'd knew I'd miss the characters.

What sets apart the books that make you cry? Affection for the characters? Style of writing? Are people who cry when they read books just more emotional?
My Sister's Keeper was disappointing for me. I watched the movie first, and MAN I cried like a baby. I still do every time I watch it. I just can't take it. But the book was completely different. So I think I was more confused than anything at the end. I was ready to cry darn it!

I cried with the last book I read titled, "A Police Action" by A. A. Fredda. It's a story about a young man who is drafted into the army and experiences life in Vietnam, uncertain if he will return to his love awaiting him.

The Law of Moses made me cry like a baby. The book is written in a way that makes you fall in love with the characters. There pain and sadness becomes your own.

Every breath by Nicholas Sparks. But if there is anything very sad in a book, I will most likely cry.

I just recently finished reading The Diary Of Anne Frank and I truly wept once I was done. Having already known before I began reading the book what the fate of the characters were, it was heartbreaking to read about their lives, their dreams, their hopes. It was especially tragic reading about Anne herself, because it was easy to understand the simple pleasures she desired, that we take for granted everyday. Knowing what happened to her and knowing what she wanted to happen to her was beyond sad.
