For me it is such a waste to burn books. Why burn them, why not just donate them to people who'd make wise use of it.

I haven't seen anyone burn a book ever. However, if I did see someone discussing it, I would just say to donate it to a local Salvation Army, used bookstore, or Goodwill. That way shoppers like me who like to look for cheap new books can stumble upon a good deal :)

Personally I think book burning is pointless and does nothing but support the author your trying to protest against since your just giving them free publicity and the books that are being burned need to be bought in the first place. JK Rowling actually encouraged the people who were burning her books since it meant more money for her. Really the real victim here is the trees.

I have never seen someone burning a book, thank God! But it reminds me of Fahrenheit 451 and The Book Thief. How can someone do that?

I feel sad. Its annoys me to see people burn book. Because in every book there is a knowledge.

I have heard about burning books, read about burning books but I actually have never seen people burning books before but I guess I will be displeased to see this.

I've only seen news stories on TV about book burning. The last one I saw was a fundamentalist religious group burning copies of Harry Potter. It just made me sad that there are people who are so afraid of ideas that differ from theirs that they would think they could make them go away by burning the words in a book. Some call this ignorance but it's not ignorance, it's stupidity.

It saddens me knowing that someone's hard work is being disintegrated in a matter of seconds. I think books should be appreciated and left on the shelves, even if you don't agree with the material.

I would cry if I saw someone burning books. And then later on, I would be angry.

I would figure they must be pretty darn cold......
I used a paintball gun manual once for kindling, I felt kinda bad, but the fire got started quick.

It depends on the context. If someone is doing it for fun or because of their hatred of books, then I get mad. But I know of communities where the people are so poor, they would burn a book to feed the fire so that they can cook or keep warm. So in such cases, I can understand.

I have never seen people burning books but I have seen so many tossed into a dumpster.
From New York though - bed bugs are a terrifying thing to books.
It was beyond sad, but people tend to throw them away.
I'm just lucky I managed to save my own books.

I have never witnessed anything like that. I'm not sure why anyone would want to burn books unless they were very desperate to generate heat.

personally I've never seen anyone burning books but if i did id probably feel its wasteful, i mean if u don't like them, give them away. If its the Bible they are burning like the Nazi's ill just be like" may God punish you". Then if you burn my books its either you buy me new ones or i make you pay.
