I love reading no matter what the weather's like but I have to say when it's a snowy day out there and the wood stove is burning really hot and I'm in my recliner chair with a comfy blanket that's the best time to read.

Yes, I love rainstorms and snowstorms if I can just stay in, be comfy and read in my armchair nook. It's the coziness that is just so inviting.

Weather can cause me to read, especially if the type of storm causes a disruption of other types of distractions. As for thunderstorms I love to watch the storm itself rather than read. A regular rainy/snowy day will have me reading in a flash.

For me, it doesn't affect when I read. However, I do find different types of joy in reading depending on the weather. For example, cozying up with a good book and a hot tea when it's raining or snowing out is perfect. On the other hand, when it's sunny and warm, I love sitting out on my terrace and reading in the shade!

Interesting topic... I read no matter the weather. It's intriguing to know that weather affects reading for some.

The weather doesn’t necessarily affect my reading habits. Reading time for me is based more on getting other aspects of my life organized so I can get some free time.

You are not the only one. I love to read when it rains too. My mind feels very clear when its raining but I am not sure about the thunderstorm though...

If it's raining and I don't nap, I'll curl up with a book. If it's just overcast, I get massive headaches and try to sleep. Hard to focus on books when I'm contemplating if beheading by rusty butterknife would hurt less.

I don't think the weather affects my reading. I read when I can, whether it's raining or snowing. :)

Definitely, but more in the sense that if there's a snow day I'll be able to crank out more of my book than I normally would. If it's raining I snuggle up with a book, or if it's nice out I'll take my book outside. I guess if it's super windy outside I won't read since I can't seem to concentrate for very long with the wind blowing.

Rain or shine, I can focus on reading my books. If it's a great read, the weather outside don't mean nothing.
I can say, though, I did feel truly grateful this last winter. It was freezing unlike the previous years, so I felt especially satisfied sitting in my room with my coffee and book. That cozy feeling you get indoors after braving the cold.
Thebooknerd24 wrote: 15 Jul 2016, 20:26 I'm posing this question because I'm curious if I am the only one. I love reading no matter what the weather but I do find myself wanting to read more when there is a big thunderstorm going on and it's pouring down rain. I suppose in the winter with pretty snowflakes falling down I'm more inclined as well. However there is something about me and thunderstorms that coincide with me wanting to read. Am I strange or does anyone else get that?
I don't have a thing for thunderstorms like that, but I can relate to this somehow. Reading provides some sort of sanctuary or refuge.
