The Stand by Stephen King
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Lightning by Dean Koontz
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Each one is a story of love, sacrifice and acknowledgement that our time is all too brief.

I would bring a book on survival, a book on raft building, a book on uncharted islands, a book on animals, and Man's Search for Meaning.

Sorry if that seemed sarcastic. I don't know which books I would pick, there are a lot of good ones to choose from.

Wow, this is so practical. Wish I had thought of that.

I guess I would bring 5 philosophy or metaphysical books. If I am stranded, I want something that I can read over and over again. Some Plato, perhaps Socrates, some Nietzsche, and maybe Rousseau.

The Bible ranks #1 on my list every time. After that comes…
2. Survival Guide (I would like to live long enough to read.)
3. Jane Eyre (Have to have some love in my life.)
4. Robinson Crusoe
5. Something like the Complete Works of Josephus Flavius or Eusebius for history
