I like both. However, paperbacks are lighter, easier to fit into a shoulder-bag, cheaper, and tend to take up less space when it comes to shelving/storage. Although hardbacks have their own sturdy beauty, and can even be utilised as paperweights, doorstops or weapons to bludgeon unwanted intruders over the head (joke ;))

I think that both have their perks, I'm obsessed with keeping my books in near-new condition, so hardbacks are really practical for larger books, but there is something so satisfying about a floppy softback that I can't resist

I love them both, I am a book collector so I usually purchase both versions of books I hate creases on a lot of my books so I buy a paper back to read often and hard covers for my collection display, I have every single Steven King book in both Cover type, however off topic I would like someone to do a velvet book cover or something of that nature because I think that that would be a nice touch for the immersion purposes of some books.

I actually prefer hardcover, simply because I mostly read at home and I just think they look prettier. Sometimes I also buy paperback though, those are mostly books that I buy for maybe the way to school and back, or travel. It would be bad to destroy my hardcover ones for this, so I'll stick with this. But to be fair, my favorite book is a paperback and I treat it like the holy grail so I guess it doesn't apply to every one.

I have a lot of books in paper back that I read, then if I find a hardback, I get it for the book shelf :)

I love hard cover because I personally think it's very... Neat?
If I buy a paper back one, I will put it in the highest place on the book rack cause I'm afraid one of my siblings will do something to it :D

When reading in bed, I prefer paperback books, as they are lighter. When reading in a chair (especially at a table), I prefer hardcover books, which are easier to handle, and stay open more often. For display purposes, I prefer hardcover. They stay upright more easily on the shelf. When bookbinding, I prefer hardcover.

I prefer paperback books. They are lighter and easier to read, in my opinion.

I enjoy the durability of a hardcover, but for longer books a paperback is lighter and more practical for commuting.

I love hardcovers. They hold more attraction for me.

I prefer paperback. As silly as it sounds, the book seems friendlier that way, and it's more portable.

I prefer hardcover because they typically last longer, especially if it's a book I might read multiple times. Likewise, I do not like hardcover books that have a detachable outer cover. For me, the outer cover becomes bothersome due to it's inevitable wear and tear and constant need of adjustment. Paperback will not deter me from reading a book I am intrigued to read, but on my list of preferences, hardcover it is.
