Purchase many paperback books as they are cheaper than hardback books. I will admit that when I do buy a new hardback book, that I love the smell and feel of the brand new heavy weight paper! :techie-studyingbrown:

I love both! I definitely like how paperbacks are cheaper and lighter but there's just something so satisfying about owning a collection of hardcovers. My biggest pet peeve is that if I own a series of books, they all have to be hardcover or all paperbacks, no exceptions.

If I'm buying a book I will choose the paperback every time. However, I love libraries because I can actually hold the hardcover and have the hardback experience.

I love to have a hardcover at home as well.
The main problem for hardcover - is the space.

I tend to go for paper back as find them more comfortable to hold when reading, especially when it's a large book! Plus it is cheaper. I only get hard back when I can't wait for the paper back one to be released!

I tend to buy paperbacks because they're cheaper and I buy an awful lot of books. But I do think hardcovers are better looking and look amazing in photos

I have mostly paperback books but since I've started using a Kindle several years ago I pretty much quit buying books. I know that some people say that holding a physical book is something that can't be beaten, but I have to disagree. I love my Kindle!

I prefer paperback. First of all, I can't afford the 30 dollar hardbacks that are sold and the ones I do have, have very decorative covers. Second, I love the feeling of a paper back in my hands. You can feel and see the aging and changes that the book has gone through as it passes through time. It contains a story, but also has a story of its own. I love finding books that look like they have been read in the rain, dog-eared, or slightly torn. Second-hand book stores are my favorite. You never know what you may come across. Hardbacks are beautiful and are just as amazing, but I don't feel like they can hold as much proof of the love they have gone through.

I usually read paperbacks because it's easier to handle, but I prefer hardcovers for the longevity. Good question, do you think sometimes it could depend on the book...

I don't have a preference, love them all, but I've gotten to the point where I need larger and darker print. As much as I love them, some of those Penguin Classics with all of that very fine, pale, tiny print has gotten way to difficult for me. Both paperback and hardcover have their advantages. It's all about the eyes these days.

I am a hardcover type of girl. I just like the weight of the book.
