:techie-studyinggray: Hardcover. especially for books I know I won't be opening very often (books I read as PDF/on Kindle, or books that have beautiful covers)

the majority of what I own is paperback though :|

I definitely prefer hardcover over paperback. Even though hardcover is more expensive, I like the feel of them better and I like drumming my fingers and nails on the backs of the book. I generally think the book covers look nicer also.

Hardcovers last longer, but paperbacks are easier and lighter to handle

I agree, for a series, hardcover is the best. Usually, I buy paperback, but I normally do not pay attention, unless it is a special edition, then it is hardcover for sure.

I prefer paper back books, however I can understand how nice hardback are. Hardback often last longer than paperback, but they are also higher in cost. So, for me it just depends on the type of book.

I prefer paperbacks. Hardcovers are pretty but heavy. With my ill-considered reading positions, a paperback is definitely easier for me to handle.

I prefer paperbacks, they are easy to carry around especially when travelling as I carry books since I am an addict.

Paperback for sure. Hardcovers are good to serve dual purposes too. You can read or use it as a mousepad.

I really enjoy listening to books on audible. However if the only choice was paperback or hardcover, Iโ€™d have to go with the paperback version. It is much easier to carry around and is usually a smaller book.

I like the look and feel of hardbacks, and if the book is a collector's item I prefer hardback. Paperbacks are much more convenient to read because they are easier to handle. So I prefer both!

I like to have hardcover books as my official copy. My brain thinks they are more coveted. However, I prefer to actually read paperbacks. I do a lot of reading in bed and dropping a hardcover on your face is not fun. Plus, it is really difficult to hold a hardcover in one hand.
