Paperback or Hardcover?

Paperbacks for the win! They're the superior choice on most accounts, at least for me.

Hard back for me. Less chance I'll rip the cover and the font tends to be a bit bigger on average, I've found.

I usually buy paperback books because they're cheaper. I prefer to travel with hardbacks, though.

Definitely paperbacks for me. It is easier to menage and it is less heavy in my hands.

I prefer paper back if I’m traveling or carrying the book with me. The only time I enjoy hard cover is if I’m displaying the book somewhere around my house.

My preference is Hardcover. I like the way they look, feel, and smell. I really can’t justify the price difference though, so for the most part, I get paperback. As someone else mentioned, they are lighter and therefore easier to hold also.

I read mostly ebooks now, because I don’t get out to the library or bookstore, and they don’t drawn bugs and in Florida that is important.

My books are my little treasures, I always chose hardcover so they last more in time.

Hardcover! Although I would not discriminate against a paperback.

It's just that I like taking my books around with me everywhere, holding them, placing them in random spots, packing them in my bag... Hardcover books are more durable and feel more "solid," more comfortable in my hands.

Either is fine--same words after all--but if I have a choice I always go handcover. They last longer and they look nice on my bookshelves.

While I have both paperback and hardcover books, I prefer paperback. I find paperback a lot easier to read and enjoy that it is lighter than hardcover books and more flexible. Also, paperbacks are a lot cheaper to buy, so when I am buying multiple books, I prefer to get paperback. Hardcover-lovers: try to change my view!

I find hardcovers to be a little bulky. And I struggle with keeping mine looking nice when they have a slipcover because they're so much easier to crease or rip than a paperback cover. I also just really love a paperback with an intricate, textured design on the cover.

Paperbacks tend to cost less and take up less room so the majority of my books are paperback. However, I do have a few books that are hardback and I'm glad they are (like treasuries and anthologies). They do tend to look nicer on a bookshelf.
