I agree - I don't really notice too much unless the POV is changing. Normally if I need to stop reading it doesn't matter if I'm mid chapter

I felt the odd one out in this forum until you responded! I barely stop to read the chapter titles, if there are any. I usually have to force myself to take the time to do it because I'd rather dive into reading immediately!

The only bad thing about not reading chapter titles is if it contains the year and then I begin reading and think wow how much time has passed!

Yes, I agree! The Cult Next Door, a book I just reviewed is written this way. It is told chronologically with years as the chapters. It definitely taught me to pay attention to the chapters.

I like short chapters because I can never ever ever stop reading mid chapter. If they are shorter then I can read little by little easily which in turn makes me read more frequently I think.

I usually prefer a book with short chapters because it makes the book look easy to read and also interesting.

I also prefer to read books with short chapters than long chapters. I also prefer shorter books in general.

It is easier to read books with short chapters, and it creates more suspense and tension.

Preferably, short chapters. I think, if it looks like the chapter will be too long, it should be made into a two-parter.

I love short chapters. Long chapters make me feel like I haven't progressed when I have been reading a lot of pages already.

I prefer short chapters as I tend to take my time reading a book and I take a break often.

If the book is as captivating or as spellbinding as a James Patterson, I prefer long chapters and chapters that never seem to end but a boring and lackluster book, I cannot wait to turn the pages.

I prefer short chapters but a lot of them. If there are long chapters then it can feel like the story is dragging and not getting anywhere.
