I prefer short chapters but have read all sorts of books. I hate stopping in the middle of a chapter, it bothers me, so I prefer short chapters that I can squeeze in even if I only have a few minutes in a waiting room. It seems like I read more when the chapters are shorter :)

In general I prefer shorter chapters but if the book is really good I might not notice that much if a chapter goes on and on.

Shor chapters, definitely! Mostly because I find it hard to concentrate on one thing for long periods of time, so when a book has short chapters I can read one or two and put the book down for awhile while still feeling like I've accomplished something. Long chapters frustrate me; they take too long to read, I get antsy, I take forever to finish just one.

Oh, I don't know how to explain it. The shorter the chapters the more productive I feel, but I also feel like they lack any real depth, you know? That's why I kind of prefer the longer ones.

I generally like books with long chapters but if the story is really good, whether it be long chapters or short,I don't mind.

It makes absolutely no difference to me personally. I typically don't pay a lot of attention to chapters unless the author uses them to alternate characters or locations etc.

I don't notice but my editor is constantly telling me a chapter has to have a beginning, middle, and end, almost like each one is a little story. But cliffhangers are OK. I really don't get it, but I'm not very formulaic in writing or anything else I do.

I think would prefer short to long, though.

To be honest, when I am reading I never take note of how long a chapter is. I suppose I am too wrapped up in what the author is saying to be concerned with how much time the author is taking to say it per chapter.

Shorter chapter definitely keep my attention longer than long chapters. They also give me a sense of accomplishment when I can see my progress in bigger numbers

For some reason, I like them shorter. I think it's because I feel really accomplished when I finish one chapter that it makes me want to read even more but when it takes a longer time to finish a chapter, I get a little discouraged and put myself down for being a slow reader.

I prefer booka with short chapters so I dont get discureged but some times I prefer long chapters, it easyer to read more books like that. Read one chapter of the long chaptered then read 15 in the small chaptered.
