I would say I prefer chapters on the short side, but there are limits...if the book is written where each chapter is only a few pages it starts to feel very redundant while an exceedingly long chapter feels overly drawn out.

Short chapters are easier to find a good place to stop if you are on a time crunch. But long chapters are okay as long as they are full of literary gold!!

I prefer short chapters most of the time. The break in the story helps keep me focused.

Either can do so long as suspense is sustained. However, I get bored and tired in extremely long chapters.

Because I currently have a one-year-old little girl and another baby on the way, I currently prefer books with shorter chapters. That way if I'm reading and need to take care of a kid with no warning, there's a better chance that I'll have stopped somewhere definite instead of in the middle of a scene.

I prefer the longer chapters. I think it provides a way for the author to really develop characters in a short time. There's also a lot of room for self-reflection and progress throughout their journey.

I find books with shorter chapters better than the long ones since my chances of boredom are slim to none when I'm downing the chapters relatively fast.

I prefer the shorter chapters. It always seems as if you could finish it on time.

I dont like very short chapters and I also don't like very long chapters so my bet is in between.

For some reason, short chapters make me really happy! I also really enjoy short story collections, so maybe it's the similarity in formats that really tickles my brain.

I think I prefer longer chapters, otherwise it almost feels like there is too many chapter headings ahead if the book is maybe a slow starter. Before seeing this question, I have never really thought about this so ultimately the length of chapters doesn't affect my choices in books or authors.

Short chapters for sure. It's the best way for me to binge read.
