I'm so jealous of anyone who's said that a book of 500+ pages is a 'big book'. I used to be in the same boat, but reading has become so much harder over the years! It's hard to find time to read, a book compelling enough to stick with, and my ability to concentrate is wrecked... These days, a 300-page book is my version of a big book.

Most books I read are from 300-500 pages. A BIG book is like The Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged, 1000-odd pages), or Gone with the Wind (719 pages). And both of those have tiny font size.

When I think of a BIG book, I think of Under the Dome by Stephen King. That is the biggest book I have read, page count is 1,074. I tried challenging myself to see how fast I could read it. I read it in a week, it was daunting!

I read 1,000+ page books such as Under the Dome ad It by Stephen King and some by Peter F. Hamilton so anything shorter is no big deal. :D

Generally, I would consider a book big if it is 500 pages or more. It also depends on if it is a difficult or uninteresting subject than even a short book can seem too big.

When I think of BIG books I think of books like Les Mis which is 1400 pages or the Hamilton biography which is around 800 pages.

This is exactly what I was thinking. A book with three hundred pages is already a big book.

I used to think 500 page books are big, but now all the the ones I find interesting are around this number, so I got used to reading them and now consider 700+ page books as big.
