Re: Reading over sleeping

I have done this many times as a kid and still continue at it today. There have even been times where I would go to bed with the intention to read only a chapter or two of a new book, by the time I look out the window, the sun is rising and I'm four pages away from completing the last chapter!

I find that the more interesting the book is, I cant sleep until i've finished it. I've gone to bed at 4am just to find out how the book ended. Then there are those series books that I have to keep buying until I reach the end..

Wayyyyy to many times! In fact, I've done it more than once this week :) It usually goes something like,
"Oh wow. It's 11 o'clock ... I'll just finish this chapter."
"Dang, midnight ... if I go to sleep now I can get 5 hours ... ok, just 30 more minutes."
"it's 2 a.m.... might as well finish this chapter ....."
and so on and so on and so on ... :)

If I have a really good book, I would definitely read instead of sleep. I remember when I was younger, I was in the middle of an incredible story, at the best part, and my mother told me to go to sleep. We had a rule that you had to try to sleep for at least 15 minutes before turning the light on again to read and relax your mind (which would then help you to go to sleep). I turned the light off and was so exhausted I probably would have fallen asleep if I tried. Instead, I rocked back and forth, staring at my clock and counting the minutes until I could turn my light on again. I finished the book.
Think, believe, manifest.

I do that all the time. It's probably why I have never had a proper sleeping schedule.

I do this more than I should. Most of the time its my own fault I should know better than to start a book late in the evening. When I go to bed the book is all i can think about so I tell myself one more chapter. I usually read the whole thing.

It happens to me a lot, for very interesting books. I get so indulged that I forget to check the time.

I have never read over night. The most I have stayed up reading late is probably midnight.

I used to read over sleep all the time, I don't usually do it anymore because I have to get up for my son.
