I don't listen to music while I read, it distracts me.

No. I prefer silence. I find music too distracting.

I tried it but I just can't. I always sing when I am listening to music and reading and singing don't go together.

Yes, I do especially, when it is a novel.

Absolutely not. I like silence or I can be distracted. Although, if I'm deeply entranced in the book, all noise disappears for me anyway.

Yes, I do have a practice of listening to music whilst reading or working. It's not about actually listening to the musical words, but it is just about stoping other noises from disturbing me. I have rather a strange kind of technique, where when there is a lot of noises around the place where I read, I usually got an earpiece and blast it off with music to in fact prevent other unwanted sounds from my ears.
a musical mind!

I listen to music when I read. I love doing that because it creates a really comfortable environment.

Not always, I feel like it is distracting. I don't know if it is just me. But I can definitely read while listening to classical instrumental music, or rainfall sound

If its just instrumentals or ambient music then yes. But anything that has words and all this intensity is definitely going to be distracting.

No. I find it too distracting. I'll be jamming to it and not reading. I could even start dancing and doing a mini karaoke rather than reading. Haha.

It feels like a crime when I don't listen to music while I read. It helps with the imagination of scenes.

The only time I listen to music when I read is when I’m trying to drown things out (usually my children when they don’t have school that day!). I actually walk on my treadmill while I read because it keeps me awake. Once I sit and relax with a book, I’m out! I have two elementary daughters and a toddler boy, so my energy gets tapped out fast. The treadmill has been my secret since college.

Sometimes I do listen to music if where I'm reading is loud. The music helps me to focus even songs with words or guitar instrumental music.

When reading, I like background noise but it must not be anything I like otherwise I get distracted.
