I agree that it doesn't bother me that much either. Although I would obviously prefer bigger print, I can read the smaller print. It just takes me a little longer to read. I will read just about any print if it is an extremely good book.

Yes! I am struggling through a book right now, which I agreed to review, and a big part of the reason is because the pages are so tight and compact. Wearing bifocals also contributes to the problem. This is an electronic book and sometimes it's just hard to find the right distance with my glasses. But I am valiantly pushing forward and hope to be done with this book in the next couple of days.

P.S. I think I just needed to vent a little bit.

I agree. Small print doesn't bother me too much. Although if I had the choice, I would choose large print over small print. You make a great point though. I guess everyone has their own preferences.

It wouldn't stop me from reading a book but I do find it very annoying. It also strains my eyes and I can't read as long without taking breaks.

No. Small print or densely packed pages do not keep me from reading a book. Doesn't stop me from complaining about it though. :P

I do not think small print discourages me from reading. I know it takes me longer to read a text with small print because it makes my eyes sore, so I need to put the book down more than I would another book with larger print.

It does. I encountered a book called either The House Next Door or The Ghost Next Door (I can't recall the exact title) by Richie Tankersley Cusick, an author I like. But I couldn't read it. Tiny, tiny font; huge, huge margins--all conspired to keep me from being able to even read page 1.

Small print is fine, but I loathe the "pocket sized books." I love the weighty feel of a good sized book in my hands.

Not too much. I would definitely prefer medium to larger print, but I can read small print just fine as well. So it doesn't really discourage me.

If it's a small book matched with a small font, it discourages me a lot. Although if I'm really interested in the book, I'll just read slowly to refrain from straining my eyes.

In my age i will not give a risk. I am very careful in reading with good light, standard font and very good content. Well reading starts with the kind of font the book has! I will not read if that is the case. But, if it is really a very good one ,like highly recommended ,i will let my friend or anyone willing to read it for me!( a style) and i will just listen.lol.See, i can still read.

I look back at some of the books I read in my youth and can't believe how small the print is. I definitely prefer books with larger and better spaced print and if a best seller is at the library, I'll often read it in large print since the wait to get it is usually smaller!

It doesn't necessarily discourage me from reading, however, it does strain my eyes so I can never read it for as long as other fonts. I find when I put pdfs on my kindle it is always in small print that I can't change

Yes, books in small print are less appealing to read. Yet if there is a book which I really want to read then maybe I'll suffer through it, but this doesn't occur to often.

I actually like it as it's easier to carry around if a digital version isn't available. It's great for carrying in a purse so that I can read in the tram or on the beach.
