I do get distracted easily but I think with the extra effort I give into reading I end up really getting the book. If you know what I mean:)

If I'm reading a good book, no, I don't easily get distracted. In fact, I'm normally so into the book that I loose track of time. I've been known to stay up all night to finish a good book. If I'm easily distracted that normally means the book is not my cup of tea.

Many people do get distracted while reading. One thing we implement with our reading students is the use of a large index card that they slide down (or "pace") the passage as they read. This simple tool helps them stay where they are reading in their passage, so when they get distracted by noise or something else, they can look down at where their card is and resume reading.

I only get distracted while reading when I am starting a new book. Most of the time I find it hard to get into a new book so, at this time, I get easily distracted. Once I become more interested in my book, then I can concentrate well and continue my reading without distractions.

I think for me it's about if it's a good book or not for me how much I am into it the more I am in my own world and the less I take notice of what's going on round me

No, I don't. I had to read in the middle of a very noisy school corridor for a decade, so now if I want to read I just do. Nothing can distract me if the story is good. Except maybe if I'm really worried about something.

Not if i'm really enjoying a book. If I am bored by a book, then I will let little things distract me.

I tend to be able to read for hours on end until I fall asleep or need the loo! Then reluctantly put my book down and look forward to the next time!

I'm really good at blocking things out. I prefer to read in public, I have learned, so I don't get distracted. I get more distracted when I try reading at home, because I'll be like, "Oooh, what's in the fridge." And then start playing games on my phone or something.

Not if the book really has my interest. If I'm really into a book, a cannon could go off next to me and I wouldn't budge :) However, I am very easily distracted by all kinds of things if I am reading something that either bores me or I "have" to read (like a college texbook, even if I'm fairly interested in the material). I've discovered that the last one is purely psychological, because I recently grabbed an old textbook off of the shelf to refresh my memory on something and got fully engrossed in it. If it isn't assigned reading, suddenly its interesting! 8)

OMG! yes. I am easily distracted when I am reading. If I am reading on my Nook HD I am surfing through emails, looking things up online or even playing a game or two. I usually try to read on my nook simple touch so that I am not easily distracted. However, I can still get distracted but not as much. The best time I have reading is in the bathtub while taking a looong bubble bath. There is no one there to distract me or demand my attention!

I know, right?!? I haven't read jack squat since I have been on vacation and that was what I was planning to do. I didn't think my sister's internet would be so awesome, out here in the middle of nowhere Mississippi.
