I remember being so proud to get my own library card! I must have been around 8 years old and always put them on my dad's card before then. It was a dark green card and I'm fairly sure I lost it rather quickly and wasn't allowed to get another one until a few yers later after I'd proved I'd become more responsible.

Yes. That was in my freshman year at the university. Although I used to read in a public library when I was a kid, but I did not have a library card.

In elementary school, but I don't think we had library cards back then. I think the librarian looked up our name from school records, since the two were connected.

I started borrowing titles like Dr. Seuss and other kids' books.

I'm so saddened by this. I've never had a library card because we do not have a library anywhere near where I live. 🙁

I think I was about 6 or 7. I ended up not using it for years, but just recently got a library card again. I had forgotten how much fun it is to go to the library :)

I don't exactly remember the age when I got my library card, but it was during my school days. It was mandatory for every student to have a library card. It was the first and last library card I had, because I never really used it.

I got it when I was in my 8th grade. That's pretty late I guess after reading all your comments!

Yes, during my second year in high school. That's also the time that I learned how enjoyable it is to read books aside from academic books.
