Have You Ever Written For Free?

Post by Spontaneo »

Years ago, I wrote for a Catholic newspaper as a volunteer. All workers were volunteers.
I then felt later on that I needed to really focus on paying opportunities.
So, I quit.
Do you honestly think I have earned anything pay-wise worthwhile? Lately, I have felt guilty.
So, the other night, I contacted the editor. She said I am welcome to return anytime.
Should I return? Would you?
In the past, a gentleman and I were the only contributors to the newspaper. The rest of the newspaper was from the Vatican wire. Talk about a hard act to follow.
Is there anything you would cover if you returned? Would you even return?
Thank you!
Well, I know one thing... I could always do book reviews! LOL

I have sometimes written for free. It was done while I was in the beginning stage and also sometimes I write for a cause.

Yes, I used to write for a school magazine until I realized I could earn from it. They started to pay me until I left school

I do write for free sometimes. I used to think it was a loss because I wasn't being paid, but now, I realise I learn each time I write, so I console myself with the knowledge.
