No, No, No. People do not take care of them the same way. You find folds, bends, random writings and weird book marking. I treat my book like they are underwear.

Nope. I don't trust other people to take care of them as much as I do. On occassion I do lend books, but I've developed the habit of sharing e-books instead.

In college, I lent one of my most precious, autographed books to an acquaintance, and I didn't get it back. So now I only lend books to family members and close friends that I know I can trust.

I, for one, avoid lending my books to anyone. However, I do happily give out my old books to my closest friends -- I suppose I would be willing to lend a book to them if it ever comes to a point that I want them to read the book as soon as possible and that I can't wait for them to get to it !

I do not like lending out my books. People don’t treat them with as much love and respect as I do.

No, and I feel bad about it. I have two books out right now to two different friends, and I have tabs on them. It's ridiculous, but I write and mark up books when I read, so not having those in my presence upsets me.

I don't like lending my books to others because I don't think they would take care of it the way I would.

I've learned that there is no such thing as lending a book. Too often they will come back damaged or doesn't make it back at all. Some friends will feel guilty about not reading the lent book and will avoid you or will return the book after a long period of time.

The best method I do now is I give away books. I then tell the person to pass it on to someone else when they are done.

I don't like lending my book out to people, most people return the books in bad conditions and I don't get some back.

I don’t mind lending out my books to others but I usually assume I won’t get them back.

When I had physical copies of books in my teenage years I used to do an exchange with friends but these days, I do not have physical books.

Used to but no longer leans out my books. Some people just don't how to handle books and some never eat to bring it back and it eventually gets lost in their care or they also give it to someone

Oh absolutely not ! But I gladly lend the books that I absolutely loved to trusted friends of mine; there's just something in knowing that I was a part of their experience in reading a book I loved. This, of course, isn't to say that I don't get at least a little bit anxious about how my book is doing while in their care

I like lending my best books for close friends. There were some times I insisted my friends to read certain books I read.

I like lending out books, because I get to share a wonderful read with others. Luckily, my books haven’t experienced any major damage up until now. But who knows, maybe that will change.
