Books with illustrations or without?

Either. But I often drift towards those without. My imagination is pretty good, so I can visualize what I'm reading without illustrations. If they are there, I prefer they not be many.

I totally agree for locations or maps. But illustrating character's feeling by picture seems childish to me.

I don't need illustrations to accompany my book, however, I do appreciate seeing artist renditions of things that I have read. Everyone has different images of what happens in the book and how things look and it's nice to see someone else's imagination at work

I love books with illustrations, I feel that it helps me to picture the characters and scenery better. Some book illustrations are stunning and I would definitely choose a book with illustrations rather than one that didn't. Illustrations add that extra special touch to a book.

I really like books with illustrations when it is a scene or description that is hard to understand, it really adds to the overall story. This really helps readers get a great sense of characters, or complicated events. It is especially good when the illustration has some form of action or movement and is not extremely static or expressionless. I also prefer color drawings or with interesting textures and shading in the drawings.

I like history or non-fiction books with illustrations and fiction books with a few illustrations, but not a book full of them.

It depends on the message the book wants to pass. Moreover, if there will be pictures, they should be few.

I don't really care either way, my mind creates its own world when I read, but with kiddies books I do like the illustrations though
