Several of my friends and I read it as young teenagers and then saw the movie in the theater. We still quote parts of the book back and forth to each other. I don't reread it often, but I do enjoy it still.
You can spend your time however you want, but you can spend it only once.

Oh my goodness, this is exactly what made me get into reading. Those choose your own adventure books were so cool! Have you gone back and read as an adult? I have been tempted but I don't want the memories to be ruined if they're not as great as an adult.TheRedQueen22 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2018, 22:43 'Goosebumps' by R.L. Stine started my love for reading English fiction (English is my second language). I thoroughly enjoyed this series, also the 'Choose-Your-Own-Story' books. I was around 13 at the time.

I just came into this thread to say this!nicole-adrianne wrote: ↑12 Oct 2019, 20:49 I always go back to Michael Ende's "The Neverending Story". It's just as captivating and relevant now as it was when I was eight!
I love it so much! I've been thinking of giving it another reread sometime soon.
It's also the whole reason I want to learn to German.
What is grief, if not love persevering?
Grief is just love with no place to go.

Hi Gravy! Thank you for coming to the thread, I feel so validated My dad is German (like, born in Germany and lived there for decades German) and he's the one who gave it to me when I was little. He bought me the English version though lol. This story is a great incentive for me to learn German too though. Time to break out Duolingo again!Gravy wrote: ↑12 Oct 2019, 21:42I just came into this thread to say this!nicole-adrianne wrote: ↑12 Oct 2019, 20:49 I always go back to Michael Ende's "The Neverending Story".
